IT 100 | The History of the PC

 
Good Morning, Class!
 
Today, we plan on taking a brief historical survey at the device which has forever revolutionized humanity. It’s significance cannot be overstated. It, along with the invention of written language and the printing press marks a drastic shift in history and marked the beginning of a new era of technology. We, of course, are talking about the rise of the personal computer.

So I’ll see you in class! Don’t forget to have pages 34-45 read and be prepared for a quiz in class!

• Read thoroughly Chapter 2 in the textbook and be prepared for a class over the subject matter you read about.
• The 500 word summary/analysis paragraph is due from Chapter 1. Send an email to pushffwd.mmtc@gmail.com consisting of a 500 word summary/analysis of your response to chapter 1. Let me know your thoughts regarding specific content that is contained in the textbook chapter. What was the most interesting to you? How has technology affected your career field? Spend some time explaining your impression of the growing role of technology in our world today. In the subject line, indicate your full name, IT100, and “Homework #1″.
• Continue working on watching Pirates of Silicon Valley movie and write two full paragraphs – One summarizing the main plot of the story and the second to give me a basic critique. This is due on Thursday, July 26th.
